Tapco Linkfirewire 4x6 Audio Interface Drivers
I have an old (v2.6) TAPCO Linkfirewrire 4x6 audio interface. I had a USB sound card until I tried upgrading to WinXP 64-bit and got into problems with the drivers for the hardware. I have tried various programs to install drivers for the sound card but they fail because I am missing some of the sound card drivers, because I don't have the ones that are not included in XP. I have found the drivers on another machine using XP but I can't install them on this PC, and have not figured out a way to force Windows XP to use them. Could someone point me to a download or tell me how to get the drivers for the hardware in the video I provided above? For your TAPCO Linkfirewrire 4x6, here's what you do: 1. Make sure you have the right sound card device selected in the Device Manager on the desktop. Open the Device Manager by right-clicking on the computer's desktop, or by pressing the Win key and then the E key. Select the device you are trying to install the audio device driver for, then right-click and choose "Update Driver" if the device is not in the list. 2. Right-click on the device name in the list, then click "Uninstall". 3. Now right-click the device name and click "Search my computer". 4. In the "Search Results", select "TAPCO Linkfirewrire 4x6" and press OK. 5. Double-click on the file you find in the search results, then the "Click to Install" link will appear. 6. Wait for the installation to complete. 7. Reboot the computer when the installation is complete. 8. When the computer starts up again, you will see the device listed in the Device Manager.
